Over the past three & a half years, Helena Parrott – Director of Virtually Smart, has been providing a full Business Management Support solution for the Dolphin N2 team.
Dolphin N2 being a growing company formed to deliver game-changing engine technology to market & having been acquired by FPT Industrial in 2019; continue to develop their ThermoPower & CryoPower engines for application in heavy-duty trucks & in stationary distributed power generation systems.
Over the past few years, Helena having brought Katy-Jane on board to develop the Dolphin N2 website content & social media presence for the Dolphin N2 team; have most recently been making plans to update & upgrade the Dolphin N2 website & social media representation & in doing so were in much need of professional standard photography to do so.
With Helena Parrott residing in Nottingham & the Dolphin N2 offices being based in Shoreham, Sussex; creating a local photo shoot opportunity was not practical.
Therefore, Helena having contacted photographers local to the Shoreham site, discovered James Pike of JIMPIX located in Hove, Sussex. James specialises in commercial, PR & editorial photography & what struck Helena instantly about his work was the vibrant & fresh approach he had to his subjects. James’ portfolio not only showed his ability to capture a professional & corporate expression for his clients, but he also managed to show them in a more relaxed mood, adding a very human & energetic quality to the photography.
Once Helena & James had agreed on a day to complete the photo shoot, Helena then had to ensure that as many of the Dolphin N2 team were available to attend on a chosen date. This in itself was a logistical challenge, with some of the team still working remotely at locations around the UK. Katy-Jane was invited to attend for the day to support Helena & the Dolphin N2 team.
Having chosen the location for the shoot & gathering as many of the Dolphin N2 team members & with a schedule in place for different team members to attend in small safe groups throughout the day; Helena, James & Katy-Jane coordinated the day.
One of the key aspects of the new normal, is the need for social distance & the wearing of masks or face coverings. We all accept this & during the photo shoot day, all of the team ensured they adhered to this. James created his own space which allowed an extended distance around him, so he could use his camera freely.
In light of the new normal, we collectively made the decision that some of the photographs should include us wearing face coverings, a clear indicator of the way we all have to adapt our lives currently. We even took the brave step to have a group photograph of the entire team wearing face coverings. It was collectively agreed that this sent a clear message about how adaptable we are all having to be. Thankfully, as the weather allowed, we did manage a socially distanced & safe group photograph outside.
The entire day was a huge success & a testament to Helena Parrott’s Project Management expertise, to James Pike professionalism & to the Dolphin N2 team who supported the day with a collective energy.
With such a seemingly ordinary event as a photo shoot having taken place in such an extraordinary year, this one day brought the entire Dolphin N2 team safely together. Under Helena’s direction & expert Project Management, the Dolphin N2 team were not only able to allow their media & website presence to be updated, but it also enabled them to have some much needed team moments together, when all around them the challenges of the pandemic continue.
