Is your Travel/Tourism, Hospitality or Entertainment sector job under threat? How can you diversify to find future employment?

By September 9, 2020 No Comments

As the UK furlough scheme is set to end as of the end of October, the UK employment market is set to become swamped with applicants.

Thus far the UK has seen job losses of in excess of 750,000 across the UK & with the Government retention schemes winding down, this is only set to increase.

At time of writing, the UK was already starting to see a spike in Coronavirus cases & the UK Government are already taking action to restrict the UK’s population to try & curtail the spread of Covid19.

We are living in challenging times there is no doubt about this & our health & economies are suffering. Therefore, if your job & or way of life is under threat how could you diversify & try & secure future employment outside of your regular employment avenues?

One of the hardest hit sectors of the economy due to Covid19, is the Hospitality, Travel/Tourism & Entertainment industries.

With domestic airlines, eateries, pubs, bars, hotels & entertainment establishments all being closed during lockdown & despite some being able to open again as of July 4th 2020; the entertainment industry is currently at breaking point & despite restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels & airlines trying to function once again, coronavirus case increases looks set to threaten these sectors more permanently.

Therefore, if your employment future looks uncertain, how can you begin to evaluate your skills set to make yourself a more likely candidate for employment opportunities going forward?
